"The Lucy - Desi Club" (1950s)
The earliest Lucille Ball fan club of the television-era was "The Lucy - Desi Club" of the 1950s.
It was helmed in Los Angeles by Marion Oring, who is seen here with Lucy on October 15, 1953 -- the night Desilu filmed "The French Revue." (Lucy is still in her costume!) Marion had just presented Lucy with a copy of the club's latest journal.
Below, Marion and two (twin) club members visted Desi at the studio March 4, 1954 (the night Desilu filmed "Lucy Writes a Novel"), and gave him a birthday present.
The photo below was taken a couple of years later, October 4, 1956, when Marion (right) and a friend joined Lucy and Desi backstage the night they filmed "Desert Island."
Marion passed away some 20 years ago, but we are always interested in hearing from other members of this original "Lucy - Desi" group.
